My interest all started about 25 years ago with a desire to make a porcelain doll. (This started a love affair with clay that has lasted for 25 years). I attended classes for two years, from dolls I went to jewelry, and now I have branched out to my wall art line. I have learned a lot about clay, how to respect it and make it work for me with my own ideas. My wall pockets and posey pins came out of my interest in history. (the Victorian era). These are my versions of those lovely works of art. My art pieces start from a portion of a 25 pound block of clay, I work my clay into the shape I'm looking for, when I'm happy with it I set it off to dry. After the piece is dry the next step is the first firing followed by glazing and a second firing. After the second firing I decide on the design best suited for that piece. After I finalize my design I fire the piece for the third time. My forth step is to apply 14kt gold and then fire for the fourth and final time. All my pieces are one of a kind, and made with lots of love. Our Wall Pockets are especially nice for those "Afternoon Tea Parties" that are becoming very popular now.
